The Art and Craft of Sewing: Gentlemen Who Sew (Live Online)
Being a “sewist” isn’t just for the ladies. This beginning sewing class will cover the basic skills of sewing and seam finishes for men’s accessories. Students should own a sewing machine and have a basic working knowledge of their machine prior to class.
In this one night workshop, design and create your own work or chef’s apron and a simple tote bag. Students will learn simple techniques in applying various pockets to customize their projects and apply rivets and simple canvas or leather straps. Instructor will email students prior to class to discuss their custom design ideas and materials needed for the workshop. Links and suggestions for fabrics such as waxed canvas and duck cloth will be shared. A basic pattern will be emailed to you prior to class. Although called “Gentlemen Who Sew,” this is a great class for anyone interested in making men’s accessories.
Class is online/virtual via Zoom from the ADALÉI studio (www.adalei.com). Students should have a working knowledge of how to use Zoom prior to the class.
