How do I register for a course?

For On-Site Classes:
- Visit our online searchable catalog and select the class or classes for which you’d like to register.
- Click Register and your class will be added to your Shopping Cart.
- Verify that the class or classes listed are correct. If so, click Next.
- The system will bring you to a page to log in. If you don’t have an account, you can create one.
- Click ‘Shopping Cart’ in the top right hand corner.
- Click Next.
- Click ‘Confirm Registration’ and you are added to the class roster.
Payment for the class will be due to the instructor the first night of class. They accept cash or some accept digital pay through PayPal, Square, Venmo, or other source. Communicate with the instructor prior to class to determine the best method of payment.
For Online Classes
- Go to the Online Classes page.
- Review the class catalog. When you find the class you are interested in taking, click Add to Cart.
- If the class is Instructor-Led, you’ll need to select your start date and click Begin Checkout.
- If the class is Self-Paced, you’re ready to check out. Click Begin Checkout.
- You’ll be brought to a page that requires you to Log In or Create Account.
- Once logged in, you’ll move forward with paying for the class via credit card.
- You are registered for your class!
In what room will my class be held?

When you arrive at the school where your class is being held, there will be a list posted near the entrance showing the room number for your class. There will also be an employee, called a Site Coordinator, there to give you directions to find your classroom.
What are the class registration policies?

On-Site Classes
You may register
online, by phone, or walk-in to the facility conducting the class. Instructors manage the payment for the class. Unless noted in the course description, there are no discounts offered.
Age is restricted to 16 years of age or older.
Online Classes
Registration is conducted
online. There are
no limitations on age, location, or how many classes you take.
Where are Adult Evening Education courses offered?

Adult Evening Education classes are held at select high school and middle school locations. Specific site locations and days of operation can be accessed using the
Site Information and Directions sheet.
A Provider is the business or person offering the course. Checks are to be made payable to the individual providers and submitted the first evening of class. Some providers have credit card systems for which you can prepay for classes. Once you register for a class, if the provider has a method for online payment by credit card, you will receive a notification to that regard.

The name of our catalog is Adult Evening Education. Adult Evening Education is available at all WCPSS schools, Wake County Public Libraries, or it can be
viewed online.

There is severe weather; will my class be held?

School System personnel closely monitor the weather forecasts and conditions. Any announcement of evening classes being cancelled will be made through the main Wake County Public School System website at www.wcpss.net. The local media will also be notified.
Please remember that if no announcement is made, evening classes will be held on their normal schedule.
How do I determine the Instructor/Provider for the class for which I want to register?

In the Adult Evening Education catalog, you’ll see at the bottom of each class the name of the instructor with their contact information. Or you can go to our online listing of our classes, click on a class, and select Contact in the menu.
What is the refund policy?

Contact the individual instructor or provider that is listed in the course description for their specific refund policy.
In general, a class will be canceled if the number of participants does not meet the minimum number required by the instructor or provider. In such cases, checks will be returned to participants.
Refunds are issued by the Provider or Instructor, not the Lifelong Learning Program.
How long do courses last?

There is no predetermined time for courses. Courses range from one night in length to three months in length. Information about the schedule for your desired course can be found under the course description in the catalog.
What are the hours for the evening program?

The evening program runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. However, some sites are open four nights a week while others are only open two nights a week. See the
Site Information and Directions document for information about site schedules.
When do I arrive for class?

You should arrive for class at least five minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
Can I take a course during the summer?

On-Site Classes:
Yes! We offer Adult Evening Education classes in a three-semester format including Summer, Fall, and Spring. View our

Online Classes:
Yes!
Online Classes are offered all year long. The Instructor-Led classes are offers start dates of once a month. The Self-Paced classes can start anytime 24/7.
Online Career Training Program:
Yes! The
Online Career Training program classes are self-paced and have open enrollment. Start them when you want and finish them at your own pace.

I am the parent/guardian of a high school student who needs recovery credits. Can he/she obtain these through this program?

No. If you have a high school student who needs credits toward a diploma, you must contact North Carolina Virtual Public High School. Visit
www.ncvps.org or call 919-515-8550. If your student is 18+ or has been out of school for more than six months, contact Wake Tech about the ABE/GED program.
We regret that childcare is not available for the children of students of the Lifelong Learning program. Children and family members are not allowed on campus.
