Teacher Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

The Online Classes, provided in collaboration with Ed2Go, offer a wide range of teacher professional development classes. Most classes offer 2.4 CEUs requiring 24 hours of class work. Follow the procedure below to obtain credit for earned CEUs.

WCPSS Teacher CEU Procedure

  1. Go to our Online Classes page.
  2. Scroll down to the categories section and select Teacher Professional Development.
  3. Select, register, and take the appropriate classes for the type of CEUs you need. Review "Credits for Professional Learning - What Type and How Many Credits may be Awarded?" document shared in Wake Learns.
  4. Download the completion certificate from the class.
  5. Follow Wake Learns instructions for submitting a Request for External Credit.
Non-WCPSS NC Teacher CEU Procedure
  1. Go to our Online Classes page.
  2. Scroll down to the categories section and select Teacher Professional Development.
  3. Select, register, and take the appropriate classes for the type of CEUs you need. Review NC DPI's Renew or Update Your Professional Educator's License webpage instructions:

  4. Utilize the NCDPI Online Licensure System to submit class completion certificates.


Out-of-State Teacher CEU Procedure
  1. Contact your state public instruction resource to determine procedures and restrictions.
  2. If approved, go to our Online Classes page.
  3. Scroll down to the categories section and select Teacher Professional Development.
  4. Select, register, and take the appropriate classes for the type of CEUs you need.
  5. Follow your state's procedures for credit.
