Charles Brantley Aycock
1859-1912
UNC graduate, school teacher, Wayne County schools superintendent, Goldsboro School Board member, US attorney NC Eastern District, Governor of NC 1901-1905.
As an advocate of public education in NC, became known as the "Education Governor."
Was involved in the white supremacy movement at the end of the 19th century.
