As sole proprietor of Vision Medical Billing Services (VMBS), Gwendolyn Thompson has over 13 years of medical billing experience. Currently employed with a pharmacy company in Cary, NC, she started VMBS to support providers with reimbursement challenges and prospective students in their knowledge quest. She covers medical billing for emergency room physicians, family practice, radiology and pharmacy. Those starting in the fi eld should possess patience and organizational skills as primary attributes. Starting salaries are generally between $10 and $12 an hour.
